Application of Low-Frequency Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2N-PM for Quality Evaluation of Fire Clay Glass Bars ShSU-33

Big sizes of glass bars used for glass furnace laying caused a new method of nondestructive quality testing to be developed and applied. Amplitude and transmission time joint evaluation of law-frequency ultrasonic signal enables to disclose overpress cracks and looseness in tested objects and reject defective ones. This approach not only makes it possible to reveal defects but also determines slight structure changes, – what is especially important for product improvement and new product development.
