Industrial Remote Leakage Detection System at Nuclear Facilities

Currently, the number of works on the automation of the remote leakage detection is extremely small. Harmfulness, large volumes, special inspection conditions, the need for logging and data protection — all this require a special approach to the automation of such systems.
The main purpose of this work is the design of the automated remote leakage detection system with an open architecture inspection system based on «open source» software and industry-standard SCADA. To exchange information the universal communication protocols submitted by OPC Data Access standard are used. This allows using any equipment that supports the OPC technology, scale and upgrading the system.
This approach is used when creating a remote leakage detection system performing mass spectrometry of closing weld of containers after loading them with radioactive waste.
Security personnel are provided by reducing the time spent in hazardous areas, and avoiding contact with highly radioactive objects. The time necessary for creating of accounting documents is reduced, the ability is implemented to store and replicate data in process inspection unit of a facility. Using the equipment of the Russian producer reduces the cost of the system and inspection products.
The considered approach is universal and applicable to any leakage detection system, regardless of the method of control and the necessary sensitivity.
