Acoustic Tomography — a Method of Pipeline Vibration Diagnostics
In world NDT practice vibrodiagnostic methods are widely used, including the increasing popularity is gained by the method of an acoustic tomography which is used on pipelines of liquid environments including oil pipelines, pipelines of hot and cold water supply. Technical diagnosing by this method allows to find on the single site up to 300 m long on a pipe abnormally dangerous defects (thinning of a pipe wall, the place of intensive jointing, defects of weld joints) and intervals of the increased tension. Results of comparative tests are presented in article. The method is widely used first of all by the organizations of heat supply.
