Eddy Current Testing Methods and Means for Joint Thread Inspection of Drilling Equipment

The article deals with the application of linear eddy currents to detect cracks in joint thread of drilling equipment. The principles of eddy current excitation and analysis of informative parameters of the signals of sensitive elements are discussed. The structure and design of transducers as well as methods of use are set out.
