Technological Pipelines of Compressor Stations. Problems of Defect Detection in Longitudinal Welds of Insulated Pipes at General Repair with Intra Pipe Ultrasonic Systems

The experience of intra pipe automated ultrasonic system AVGUR-T application is given in the article. The system was used for technical condition estimation of factory insulated pipes at the process of technological pipelines general repair. Possibility of AVGUR-T application for main metal integrity testing is shown. It is marked that after taking off the insulation some surface defects in factory longitudinal welds were detected; they had small linear sizes and depth. To solve this problem it is necessary to have more sensitive single-pass weld inspection methods (without transversal scanning) from inner surface.
