History, Present and Future of Industrial X-Ray Computed Tomography

The article gives a review of the status and development tendencies of main classes of industrial computed tomography (CT) systems. The worlds leading manufacturers of CT equipment are listed, and analysis of basic specifications, their development trends and fundamental limitations are presented. The appearance examples of typical industrial CT systems and high-energy CT images of a car engine and an automatic gear box with sizes up to 800 mm are given. Bibliography and a list of web-sites of the review will allow the future readers to learn detailed descriptions of equipment and experience of application.
